Two Coffee Cups

A dark, round table just caught in the sunlight with two dirty coffee cups on its surface; far, far nicer than a picture of someone downing the drink from a disposable container (my alternate shot), and easier to shoot too since it never moved. For #CoffeeThursday curated by +Cheryl Cooper and +Jason Kowing. Google+: View post on...

I Was So Cool

Nothing says cool quite like a white guy with a Public Enemy top on eating a choc ice in his parents' living room in the early 1990s. Nothing. Man, I was cool. What happened? It's Thursday so that means it has to be for #BlastFromThePast curated by +Cheryl Cooper, +Mark Rodriguez, and +Isabelle Fortin. Google+: View post on...

The Dolphin and Anchor

While sitting in the sunshine (which was doing a singularly unimpressive job at compensating for the chilly wind) and having a chat (okay: moan) about work I couldn't help but notice two girls on a bench nearby. That's right: I notice girls. Anyway, in this particular case the girls were taking it in turns to wander around and take a photo using their phones before returning to the bench to show off the results; daffodils were shot, views down the street were shot, signs were shot, and – as caught here (and as witnessed curiously by someone popping out for a cigarette) – part of the pub opposite them was shot. People at lunchtime in public taking shots of things that interest them? That's just so weird. Google+: View post on...

Through The Square Window

The last sight I usually see at the end of my lunchtime is this window just above the entrance to the building in which I work. Today, that particular window was occupied by the shoulder, arm, and head of our resident infrastructure/hardware guy (I forget the exact job title but I'm almost certain that's not it). It would be unfair to say that every little thing he configures fails in some new and exciting way each and every time but, on the other hand, it would be fair to say that I'm struggling to think of an occasion when it hasn't. Checking The Form

It's the start of a big week of horse racing at Cheltenham so it wasn't particularly surprising to see a punter checking out the form in the paper today. Here's hoping he had more luck than me. Stupid donkeys. Google+: View post on...

Pickpocket

Pickpocket

They don't call Chichester the pickpocketing capital of the northern hemisphere for nothing and today I managed to capture a prime example as this girl brazenly sidled up to a man in the precinct and attempted to relieve him of his prized collection of handkerchiefs. Fortunately for him, the girl was an amateur – relying on the distractive qualities of her leggings over any sleight-of-hand skill – and he detected her nefarious activity almost immediately; you can see from the shot I caught that he is a split-second away from throwing her to the floor and then performing an enthusiastic body slam as a means of street justice. It's the only language these curs understand. Google+: View post on...
