Through The Square Window

The last sight I usually see at the end of my lunchtime is this window just above the entrance to the building in which I work. Today, that particular window was occupied by the shoulder, arm, and head of our resident infrastructure/hardware guy (I forget the exact job title but I'm almost certain that's not it). It would be unfair to say that every little thing he configures fails in some new and exciting way each and every time but, on the other hand, it would be fair to say that I'm struggling to think of an occasion when it hasn't. Checking The Form

It's the start of a big week of horse racing at Cheltenham so it wasn't particularly surprising to see a punter checking out the form in the paper today. Here's hoping he had more luck than me. Stupid donkeys. Google+: View post on...

Pickpocket

They don't call Chichester the pickpocketing capital of the northern hemisphere for nothing and today I managed to capture a prime example as this girl brazenly sidled up to a man in the precinct and attempted to relieve him of his prized collection of handkerchiefs. Fortunately for him, the girl was an amateur – relying on the distractive qualities of her leggings over any sleight-of-hand skill – and he detected her nefarious activity almost immediately; you can see from the shot I caught that he is a split-second away from throwing her to the floor and then performing an enthusiastic body slam as a means of street justice. It's the only language these curs understand. Google+: View post on...

Monopod

There's nothing worse than finding a bench outside the Cathedral on which you can enjoy your lunch with a beautiful view and some warming rays from the sun, only to realise that you've left the sandwiches back at the office. Still, one should never underestimate the ingenuity of Chichester's workers and it was with some pleasure that I witnessed a woman eat her own leg today. I've spared you the most grisly of the shots and decided to only upload this one which features the woman in question just finishing up her impromptu meal. Submitted for #MonopodMonday which doesn't actually exist. Google+: View post on...

Unlocking The Bike

Unlocking The Bike

The sun and the warm weather that occasionally accompanies it made an appearance today and that led to an abundance of shorts, t-shirts, and people on bicycles. We picked a different spot in which to sit today at lunchtime, engage in the usual moaning about work, and fire off a few shots every now and then. Where we were sat – outside the cathedral – was beside a bicycle rack and this man taking a bit of time to unravel the lock on his bike (at least, I hope it was his) stood still long enough to get captured. My Nokia Lumia 800

Another shot (taken yesterday) for #SquareSunday curated by +Matt Soave, this time featuring a plethora of squares as it shows a square crop of my lovely Nokia Lumia 800 with its new cyan cover and my current choice of wallpaper, the lovely Olivia Wilde in her Tron outfit; the phone runs Windows Phone 7 so it's stylish square tiles all over the place when you're using it; and I photographed this in the bathroom with its square mosaic effect on the flooring as backdrop.
