I decided to use the EF 70-300mm IS USM today instead of the EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro which has rapidly become my lens of choice. Amazing just how slow and clunky the 70-300 felt and how the sharpness has seemingly vanished. Strange and scary what you get used to. Still, I like the closeness that the extra focal length can get you. I shall endeavour to use it more often.
