Today is Doodle Week Day Five. That means that there have now been five doodles on this site over the past five days. If we divide five by five we come up with the average number of doodles on this site per day and that answer is one!

Doodle Scribble : "I think this is when I get really doodly, normally its while I am sat in class and then can’t make sense of my notes because I have doodled all over them.".

This is what I generally scribble while on the phone, in meetings, etc. It’s not really a daydream as such but that’s primarily because the theme was described as Scribble when I noted them all down and someone changed his or her (hint: her) mind.

What does doodling a maze mean?
A maze is a selection of (usually) mixed straight lines and the implication is of a clouded outlook and or judgment as well as inner emotional conflict. Frustration at the speed of which things happen (never fast enough for this artist), but if the doodler has left any "paths" open these may indicate the way in which he or she may take to free themselves of the burden they feel is weighing them down.

The maze is one of the oldest metaphor’s for life. See Pan’s Labyrinth for a visually awesome treatment of said subject. That said, I love mazes and this one is very cool.

Daisy: would you believe that was supposed to be a number three rather than a seahorse. I was trying to add odd numbers into the maze. I couldn’t begin to tell you why though.
Francis: metaphor for life sounds better than a clouded outlook representation. And yes, I’ve got Pan’s Labyrinth; great film.
